Tyson will be showcasing some of the finest champagnes on the market. You don’t want to miss this one!
Each ticket includes a great selection of Champagnes and a copy of Tyson Stelzer’s latest Champagne Guide.
Tyson Stelzer is a multi-award winning wine writer, television presenter, and international speaker. He was named The International Wine & Spirit Communicator of the Year 2015, Australian Wine Communicator of the Year 2015 and 2013 and The International Champagne Writer of the Year 2011.
Did you know the bubbles in Champagne were first considered a flaw?
Early winemakers of the Champagne region considered bubbles a defect, a corruption of the still, fizz-free wine they were trying to make.
These bothersome bubbles came about unintentionally. The weather was the culprit. Being so far north, the temperature in Champagne sometimes turned too cool too soon, stopping the fermentation process short. To the unbeknown winemakers, these bottles were ticking time bombs waiting to explode.
Guess what happened when spring arrived? The warmer temperatures rebooted fermentation to cause a secondary ferment in the bottle and therefore built up so much pressure, the cellars turned into a reenactment of WWII with shattering glass and corks flying everywhere.
Faced with a potentially defective product, there was only one thing to do: call in the marketers! The marketing pros took what was essentially a flaw and turned it into a fabulous selling point! They positioned Champagne as a fun, festive wine. Today, of course, the very word “Champagne” is practically a synonym for celebration.
Join us on December 5 and allow Tyson to entice us with what was once considered to be “Bubble Trouble” to now being “Bubble Guzzle”
