Lebanon lies at the eastern extermity of the Mediterranean and its economy is driven by banking and services industries, including tourism and hospitality. It is one of the oldes sites of wine production, and following a 15-year civil war that commenced in 1975, the wine industry has experienced a revival and unprecedented growth. Its main wine producing regions are in the West near Bekaa and the hilss of Zahleh.
